Age Restrictions Program placement is based on the player’s gender and birth year. Please see the available age groups, organized by season, below.
Team Formation
Players will be placed on gender-specific teams based on their residential district/school location. Other factors in team placement include date of registration and any special request made by parents. Players will be contacted by mid-August for Fall play and mid-March for Spring play, by their assigned coach, with seasonal information. Please contact the VP-Juniors Programs with any questions or concerns in regards to team formation.
Session Format The first half of each session is devoted to skills and the second half of each session consists of a coach-facilitated scrimmage against another team at your location. These scrimmages are usually 4 vs 4 or 3 v 3 on a small field, with the coaches serving as referees and also teaching the basic rules of the game. At this age group, we are introducing the concepts of field boundaries, passing, shooting and teamwork.
Uniform / Equipment Coaches will distribute an Under Armour jersey and socks to players. No shorts are provided. Parents are expected to provide for their children: shorts, a size 3 soccer ball, a quart size water bottle, shin guards, and appropriate footwear (soccer cleats are optional).

Face Coverings
In conjunction with MD’s expanded statewide mask order, which takes effect Friday, July 31 at 5:00pm for anyone over the age of five, the Soccer Association of Columbia has adopted the following face covering guidelines for all visitors to the Bob Lucido Fields at Covenant Park:

Players are required to wear face coverings to and from the field
Coaches are required to wear face coverings at all times (on and off the field)
Spectators are required to wear face coverings at all times

We expect all visitors to abide by these guidelines. Failure to do so may result in removal from the complex.

We also ask, as an added measure of safety, that visitors continue to practice physical distancing around the fields. Please avoid stopping and/or gathering in common walking areas and remember that there are multiple points of entry to each field.

Any player who has been exposed to COVID-19, whether they have tested positive or not, must stay away from SAC activities for at least 10 days from the latest date of exposure.  After the initial 10 days, the player must provide evidence of a negative COVID test to the Club before they can return to play.
