Nonprofit The Soccer Association of Columbia is a Nonprofit organization, 501(C)3. Please contact the office to obtain our tax id number.
Mission The mission of the Soccer Association of Columbia / Howard County (SAC/HC) is to provide boys and girls from age 3 to 19 with both instructional and competitive youth soccer opportunities that will build character, enhance community, and promote an appreciation of the game of soccer. The vision also emphasizes the core values of self-esteem, confidence, teamwork and respect along with support for the inherent benefits that physical exercise brings.
Program Goals SAC/HC’s goal is to achieve technical excellence in all of its soccer programs. To accomplish this goal two objectives must be met: (1) Coaches in all SAC/HC programs (Juniors, Recreation, Travel and Academy) must be provided with consistent, high quality and appropriate education so they can learn and train their players in all aspects of soccer. (2) Player development must be constantly emphasized-specifically the development of individual player skills under pressure of time, space and an opponent.

The objective is to increase the player’s technical speed in a progressive training environment that concentrates on the player with the ball and his/her immediate surroundings. As players advance from Juniors to Recreation to Travel to Academy, skill development is encouraged through clinics and technical training sessions.

Civility Statement As a supporter of Choose Sportsmanship, a component of Choose Civility Howard County, we support respect for others, their roles, and their knowledge and expertise. All coaches, athletes, parents, and spectators are responsible for and expected to exemplify civility.
